About Jawa:
We are the community-driven marketplace for gamers. We’re on the path to become THE destination for gamers to buy and sell their gear at fair prices, and are focused on giving resellers, custom PC builders, and gaming crafters a place to set up shop.
Jawa launched last August and has been growing like crazy. We’ve just secured seed funding and are hiring an ambitious Full-Stack Software Engineer to help us build a dominant gaming hardware marketplace.

The Role
As an early engineer, you will be working across the Jawa platform. Some projects might include:
Adding more social features to our frontend website
Rearchitecting our data model to support more flexible listing customization
Extending billing and shipment tracking infrastructure to support transactions and shipping fulfillment internationally
Making calls about technical infrastructure at every level of the stack including (but not limited to) frontend frameworks, internal and external APIs, hosting, database, search, CDN, and deployment.
We’re looking for someone that can be opinionated about making the right engineering decisions, but pragmatic about getting things done in a startup environment.
Requirements
1+ years of experience developing, deploying, and maintaining web applications in production environments
Comfort working with Javascript / Typescript - prior work experience is preferred but not strictly required. Bonus points for experience with NextJS, React, and Express.
Basic familiarity with SQL.
Comfort working with Git, ideally experience with CI/CD tools.
Familiarity with browser, networking, and operating systems fundamentals.
It’d be great if you were located in the Boulder area, but we’re a fully remote company.
To succeed, you need to be interested in gaming and marketplaces. We don’t expect you to be a professional PC builder or esports competitor, but we’re here to help our community scale up their business and you’ll need to be able to understand their needs.
