We are the community-driven marketplace for gamers. We are on the path to become THE destination for gamers to buy and sell their gear at fair prices, and are focused on giving helping resellers, custom PC builders, and gaming crafters a place to set up shop.
Jawa launched last August and has been growing like crazy. We’ve just raised our seed round and are hiring an ambitious Chief of Staff to help us build a dominant gaming hardware marketplace.
This is a fast-paced, multi-faceted role with extensive growth potential for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset and hustle. You will work directly with the CEO and across teams to identify and tackle key opportunities as they arise, and execute on some of our highest value projects across all areas of the business. You will help our existing functions scale, and will also be tasked with 0-1 work where you will define new functions, build a playbook, and coach a replacement. One week you might be researching shipping carriers; the next developing a go-to-market strategy for category expansion. Initial work will include:
Work with the CEO and CTO to define company-wide priorities and targets. Help manage processes, work flows, and timelines
Build the tools, processes, and dashboards to empower the team
Become the engine behind core functions of the business, transforming repetitive tasks into repeatable, high-leverage systems
Drive complex and strategic projects that span multiple functions and require cross-functional buy-in and execution
Perform financial analysis to help leadership team make key decisions (building budgets, cash flow analysis, unit economics, etc)
Jump in and solve problems across the product & business by doing a lot of early customer support/onboarding (we all do this)
Establish efficient and effective communication within the company and externally
5+ years experience in management consulting or an operational leadership role. Bonus points for startup experience
Highly quantitative and a good executor: you can develop a complex analysis and then translate it into action and inspire a team to drive results
Ability to spin up business model and financial projections to the highest standards
Best-in-class project management capabilities: can skillfully manage up, down, and laterally, and have led a team to accomplish great things
Tendency to self-start and respond to problems independently and proactively
Curious and obsessed with excellence: you’ll approach each opportunity with enthusiasm, even if it’s outside of your experience
Excited about joining a small, high-growth team and tackle large, open ended problems
MBA preferred but not required
It’d be great if you were located near the CEO in Boulder, but we’re a fully remote company.
To succeed, you need to be interested in gaming and marketplaces. We don’t expect you to be a professional PC builder or esports competitor, but we’re here to help our community scale up their business and you’ll need to be able to understand their needs.
