Job Description

As the Data Platform Tech Lead at Kigo, you will be responsible for architecting, building, and managing our data platform that powers our innovative tokenized loyalty solutions. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise and leadership skills. You will be an individual contributor, hands-on with the architecture, infrastructure, and code, while also leading and growing a high-performing team that owns our data and machine learning operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement a scalable, secure, and efficient data platform to power analytics and reporting, AI-driven search and personalization, data integrations with Kigo partners and customers, and more
• Develop and optimize data pipelines, data storage solutions, and machine learning models
• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers and data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data needs and deliver data-driven solutions
• Establish best practices for data governance, security, and compliance
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and AI
• Drive the adoption of automation, CI/CD practices, and monitoring for the data platform
• Recruit and grow the data platform team to support Kigo's expanding data and AI initiatives

What you need to be successful in this role:

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, with 3+ years in a leadership role • Deep expertise in designing and building large-scale data platforms
• Strong programming skills
• Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL/ELT pipelines
• Experience with big data frameworks and tools
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and tools
• Understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance requirements
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to balance technical excellence with business impact
