Summary

We are looking for a Sr. Event Account Executive. This person is a natural leader who enjoys spearheading large and complex events with many moving parts. They are strategic, big picture thinkers but are also strong project managers, ensuring the team stays on deadline and on budget. They love seeing large events of all kinds – conferences, incentive trips, etc. – come to life.

With at least 10 year's event experience (including 2 years leading large events), the Sr. Event Account Executive leads our largest and most complex events (i.e. 10,000+ attendees, multi-million-dollar budgets, 10+ person planning teams, onsite staff teams of 20-100+, etc.) They oversee all elements of the event lifecycle from project timeline development to budget management, to onsite execution. They will do hands-on planning according to the needs of the project (agenda design, meal function development, activities, gifting, vendor management and/or onsite execution planning). Serving as the client point of contact, they will also oversee preparation for and facilitate client calls.

You’ll spend your days on the following:

  • Act as the client's main point of contact, building rapport and providing expert recommendations throughout.
  • Oversee all elements of planning and project team, including but not limited to agenda design, hotel/venue space planning, show production strategy, food & beverage, transportation, activities, gifting, etc.
  • Build out recommendations and detailed plans for large & complex project needs according to client goals and event budget (i.e. multi-day F&B plans for 10,000+ attendees in a variety of spaces and function styles).
  • Deliver poised project presentations with updates and/or ideas to clients and stakeholders.
  • Develop a project timeline with due dates and clear accountabilities for project teams of 20+ roles (including internal and external partners) and manage throughout planning.
  • Source and oversee vendor partners, negotiating throughout to provide cost savings to client.
  • Make consistent budget updates throughout and communicate financial updates and recommendations to the client.
  • Lead internal strategy & planning meetings and ensure all parties understand accountabilities and next steps.
  • Lead the preparation and delivery of consistent client calls.
  • Create plans for large onsite teams of staff, contractors and vendors.
  • After the project, process all billing and complete post-project reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with the design & purchasing team on concept development for a variety of events, steer proposal and contracting process according to client goals and budget.
  • Identify opportunities to increase Augeo brand recognition and value with other members of the client’s team and partner with the Account Director to pursue those opportunities.
  • Lead or participate in brainstorming sessions.
  • Take active role in staff meetings.
  • Travel approximately 30 percent of the year on site visits and event execution.

What you need to be successful in this role:

  • 10+ years experience in large & complex event planning with client relationships (agency environment preferred)
