Summary

We're looking for a detail-oriented, reliable Senior Accountant to handle the day-to-day invoicing and revenue recognition operations of our growing Gifting Services team. In this hands-on role, you'll execute revenue recognition and reconciliations, ensure sales tax compliance, process client invoicing, and maintain audit-ready documentation. You'll work closely with leadership to provide the accurate financial data they need as this business line scales.

This isn't just another back-office role. You'll gain exposure to modern systems (Dynamics 365, Shopify, SOVOS, CommonSku, Stripe, AI), collaborate across teams, and implement processes that support both accuracy and growth.

What You'll Do

• Execute revenue recognition in compliance with US GAAP/ASC 606.
• Review project status with account teams; prepare client invoices; calculate sales tax; process revenue recognition entries; reconcile project deferred revenue and prepaid expenses balances; handle AR collections.
• Process multi-state sales tax compliance, registrations, and SOVOS filings.
• Perform reconciliations across multiple systems (Dynamics 365, Shopify, CommonSku, Stripe, etc.).
• Provide support for annual external audits, client audits, and internal review requirements.
• Analyze financial data on WIP, gross profit, and sales by state.
• Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen accuracy and efficiency

What You Bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field + 8+ years progressive accounting experience (agency/project-based preferred).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, ASC 606, and multi-state sales tax rules.
• ERP experience required (Dynamics 365); Shopify, CommonSku, SOVOS, or Power BI a plus.
• Strong communication skills to explain financial processes clearly to non-accountants.
• Attention to detail with the ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working with auditors and maintaining audit-ready documentation.
• Curiosity about new tools (AI, automation) to make work smarter.

Location & Flexibility

We strongly prefer candidates located in Kansas City or Minneapolis where we have offices. However, we will consider exceptional candidates located in the following states: KS, MN, MO, CA, CO, FL, IL, NE, OH, OK, SC, NC, TX, GA, NY, WI.
