Business Development Strategy Director

The Business Development Strategy Director thrives in the creation stage of experiences, balancing creativity and research. Providing expertise in event experiences, the BD Strategy Director will grow business for the experience department and authentically expand business for live experiences with key clients. They will collaborate with other team members to ideate, quote and assemble comprehensive proposals. Once the proposal is complete, the BD Strategy Director will lead the presentation to the client, conveying the approach and describing creative solutions.

As a BD Strategy Director, outreach to potential clients is a requirement. This individual will need to work independently while also directing other team members on the various needs of the proposal in order to meet all deadlines. They will first take a deep dive into client’s needs and brand before researching and developing creative, viable and extraordinary proposals set within provided parameters. Many proposals require original content, so the ability to copywrite is preferred. This individual should also be confident in initial budget development, industry trends, and company capabilities. A poised, influential communication style is crucial in addition to the ability to build relationships. Preferred capability includes the skillset to facilitate discovery sessions.

Level of experience:

You’ll spend your days on the following:

• Lead the development and delivery of proposal and sales presentations for events, experience consulting, event technology, marketing campaigns and custom experiences.
• Manage deadlines and staff contributions.
• Direct the design, layout and production of proposals.
• Conduct research through various sources.
• Review proposals throughout development to ensure they are on target with client goals and brand. Provide feedback on revisions as needed.
• Prepare potential budgets for each proposal, accounting for all expense areas needed to execute the program.
• Understand and stay up to date on current industry trends and company capabilities.
• Take active role in team meetings and brainstorm sessions.
• Track leads and opportunities in SalesForce and actively update individual performance scorecard.
• Travel approximately 15%-25% of the year.
• Energetically represent Augeo brand.

What you need to be successful in this role:

• Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Event Planning, Hospitality Management, Business, etc. Experience in copywriting preferred.
